...with filmmaker Tim Richmond and Sound Artist Stephen Kidd.

There is a particular quality that analogue film delivers, a rounded tonal, lightly grained quality that reveals a sense of depth. This four day workshop will look at the technical aspects of shooting on film, including lens choice, film stock choices, lighting, the camera itself and the capturing of sound. In particular, you will explore the consideration and preparation required for filming with a limited quantity of film stock. Participants will spend one day 'on set' observing the processes involved in making a short film and the creative choices.

Finally the film will be sent off for processing and telecine-ing and participants will gather on the footage's return to view what has been captured and to observe the editing process.

Course Dates: 10th - 12th May 2017 - One further date TBC

Please note: 12th May will be on location. Details to be confirmed.
