6 | Learn About Blu Ray

Shoot in HD, edit in HD, output to DVD?

Every film-maker wants their film to be watched in the
highest quality possible. As Blu Ray players have become
less expensive, so film-makers have the opportunity for
their work to be distrbuted by and watched on this format.
The Engine Room studio manager Will Bix unlocks the
mysteries of programming/burning to Blu Ray.

22 | Documentary Film-making
Developing Video & Film Production

}Every Wednesday 6.00 > 9.00pm for twelve weeks

Cost | £300

One this course, accredited by OCN, you'll learn the main
production principles then research, develop, schedule and
produce a short documentary film. If you're looking to
develop your film-making skills for business, CPD or fun,
then this course is for you.

*Accredited by the National Open College Network,
the course offers three credits, which can accumulate
towards a nationally recognised qualification.

27 | Learn about After Effect
In this one day session with film-maker James Price you’ll
gain knowledge and practical experience in how to set up a
project, work with 2D and 3D layers compositing and
adding effects including light and camera angles. You will
also learn how to animate layers, use key frames and time-
lines to create something like this. A great introduction
to a useful piece of creative software.

Do I need to be on LinkedIn? How can I make time for
using social media?

Deb Richardson provides the answers to all of the above
and introduces you to some of the key, free to use,
social media tools, whether for personal, business or
organisational use PLUS discover a few new digital tools
currently in Beta.

26 | Short film funding and distribution
Financing a short film is difficult. The reality is they
rarely, if ever, make any money. So how can you get your
great script/idea off the ground and how can you get it
seen? Deb Richardson leads this one day course covering
a range of topics from current funding streams and crowd-
sourcing to film festivals submissions and getting more
views on Youtube.

 

Please note that The Engine Room is accessible by
wheelchair with stair lift to the upper floor and feature
inclusive technologies.
