Wellington Film Festival, which takes place later this year on September 18 - 21, is to open with a new film created especially for the town and local residents can get involved in the making of it.

The filmmaking initiative - “Wellington-on-Screen” - will be a celebration of the natural and built heritage in the area and is the result of a partnership between Actiontrack Performance Company and Somerset Film. The two organisations previously collaborated on the film ‘The Sound We See’, which captured 24 hours in the life of the county on 8mm film. This time they’ll be shooting on digital format and the final film will be premiered with the soundtrack performed live.
