What does it mean to… Belong in Bridgwater?

Belong in Bridgwater aims to strengthen community ties as the town negotiates this time of rapid growth and change. We want to work with local communities to explore what it means to 'Belong in Bridgwater'. What it means to belong in the town, and to be part of the local community? And equally, what does it feel like if you feel that you do not belong?

What makes Bridgwater feel like home to you?

Somerset Film are supporting the project by creating opportunities for local people from all backgrounds and of all ages to share their stories and experiences on film and tape and to reflect on what it means to belong here. These reflections will be gathered to create an interactive exhibition at The Engine Room later this year.

So far we have worked with Bridgwater YMCA Hamp Helpers group, Senior Citizens Forum, Sydenham Community Centre, AllStars and Fusion Young People's Support Groups and Bridgwater Salvation Army...

We are looking for local community groups to take part in FREE creative workshops, an opportunity to have fun with digital technology and to share thoughts on what belonging means to you. Not part of a group but interested in getting involved? We’d still like to hear from you!

Please get in touch to be involved
