1370587.Reel-Somerset-Logo-greyWe curate a DVD of short films made by local artists, filmmakers and  partner organisations living and working in Somerset and distribute it free to over 150 film societies, community and not for profit cinemas across the South West. Our aim is to encourage venues to show a short film in front of a feature (or an entire evening of shorts) and raise the profile of local talent.

We've just released Volume II, which features animation, drama and documentary and includes the award winning animation ‘Once Upon a Time in the Shed’ alongside ‘Sun, ‘The Fischer Enquiry’ and “The Sound We See – A Somerset Symphony”, which have been shown at film festivals both nationally and internationally. Each film is introduced by the filmmaker themselves.

A couple of the films have been made through projects we have facilitated, one is by a group of first-time filmmakers, most are by independent filmmakers living in Somerset - all of them are passionate about their subject and extremely talented!

If you're a filmmaker working or living in Somerset and have a short film you'd like to be considered for the next edition then get in touch. Just send an email with a link to the film and some info on yourself - we'll be in touch!

If you're a community group, not-for-profit cinema or film society and would like to receive a DVD to screen then get in touch. There is no cost to screen the content, however, a donation of £20 helps to cover production and postage costs and registers the recipient for volume three.

If you're a venue and have received a DVD and would like to provide screening feedback then you can access our short online survey here.
