Mayhem | Music Video Competition

Free | For Somerset music video makers aged under 25.

Lots of directors started their filmmaking careers making music videos. We’re keen to celebrate the next generation of filmmaking talent and the music scene in this county.

Send us your short music video for our judging panel to view. The top three entries will receive festival laurels to go on their videos. The director of the winning entry will receive £100 cash prize. The winning entry will be announced and screened on Sunday 19th May 2024 as part of the festival.

Short music videos (no longer than 10 minutes) that have been created in conjunction with the artist/musicians/band. The video can be either a live performance you have captured and edited or it can be more creative response to the music. Remember that creativity of approach will be one of the judging criteria.

To qualify the film’s director must be under the age of 25.

Complete an entry form and send a YouTube link or file (mp4/.mov via wetransfer or similar) to mayhem@bridgwaterartscentre.co.uk . Please do not send google drive links.

The entry form will ask you for your full name, the name of the band and the title of the music track featured. If you are not the director of the music video please indicate the name of the director and their date of birth. Indicate whether your video is suitable for family viewing. Let us know if your video includes bad language or nudity or scenes of a violent, horror, sexual or disturbing nature.

Send your entry by March 15th 2024. We reserve the right to close entries early if we receive a large number of submissions.

The submitted films must be your own original work. Please do not use copyrighted images or music without the artists’ permission.

Your video must not include anything likely to cause offence. We reserve the right to not adjudicate or show films that offend or which contravene our equality and diversity policies.
