The Creative Network is a free event for artists to network and share ideas. This month’s topic is social prescribing, with guest speaker Artist Ann Diment. She will to talk about the Thriving Communities Somerset project, along with her final major project on ‘Creating Recovery’ and other projects.

The Sunday afternoon picnic musical on the Wellington School playing field is The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman and telling the story of P T Barnum who created and ran the world’s most famous circus.

After the Sunday morning screening of Jurassic Park the action moves across town to Wellington Park where the crowd enjoying a free concert of movie themes from the town’s silver band will have the chance to be thrilled by a selection of animatronic dinosaurs. A great photo opportunity so bring your cameras!

It was Jon’s idea to use the Lloyds Bank building as a backdrop for last year’s stunning  video mapping with a Hollywood theme – each window a mini cinema screen.

The film Six Inches of Soil is a British independent full feature documentary shining a spotlight on soil health and regenerative farming. It tells the inspiring story of young British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil, our health and provide for local communities.

We present Fritz Lang’s 1927 German expressionist science-fiction silent classic ‘Metropolis’ (1984 cut – 1 hr 20 mins). The plot sees Metropolis as a home home to a Utopian society where its wealthy residents live a carefree life.

To accompany ‘Metropolis’ ‘sci fi surf’ band Palooka 5 will providing a live soundtrack to Langs classic.

This one-day filmmaking workshop for ages 12 - 19 years will give you hands on experience with digital film equipment. You'll also learn out about the inspiring locations the workshops are taking place in and the great environmental work across Somerset.

You will scratch, draw and print on it to create loops that can be projected. James will also share his knowledge of how film has developed over the years.

Calling all music video makers that live in Somerset and are under the age of 25. 

Send us your short music video for our judging panel to view. The top three entries will receive festival laurels to go on their videos. The director of the winning entry will receive £100 cash prize. The winning entry will be announced and screened on Sunday 19th May 2024 as part of the festival.
