Our accessible venue has spaces available to hire for meetings, conferences or training events.
Superfast wi-fi and experienced technical support makes it the ideal place for online conferencing or to live stream your meeting or event from.

Studio 1
Currently undergoing an amazing transformation thanks to the Town Deal Fund - it should be back in use in Spring 2024.
Studio 1 sits on the ground floor of The Engine Room with level access. The studio has hard flooring and a variety of lighting rigs.

Studio 2
A vibrant space with lots of character, Studio 2 can be configured as a studio space, meeting room, or as an activity space.
The separate entrance to the High Street makes this ideal for prearranged out-of-hours access. Studio 2 sits on the ground floor of The Engine Room with level access. The studio is carpeted with adjustable track lighting.

Studio 3
Our smart meeting room which is ideal for online conferencing, hybrid meetings and live-streaming. It has superfast wi-fi with a 360-degree camera, mic, speaker and a widescreen TV.
Studio 3 sits on the first-floor accessed via stairs or a lift. The studio is carpeted with adjustable track lighting.

Green Room
A great space for streaming live or hot-desking.
Our Green Room features a green screen wall and is located on the first-floor of The Engine Room, accessed via stairs or a stairlift.

Archive Room with Sound Booth
Our Archive Room is ideal to edit or create sound recordings. It is available to hot-desk or use the Sound Booth.

Shepherd Studio
A great addition to our studio spaces, ideal for live-stream, creative production or meetings. It is a dynamic studio space that can be configured in a multitude of ways.

*Please note: One of the steps we took during the pandemic to follow government guidance and keep our visitors safe was to limit a number of attendees in each room. The number provided below are the capacity but we advice caution in response to whatever is the current situation, if in doubt speak to our Cafe Manager. Studio Hire Charges – Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm:
£11.50 + VAT per hour for local organisations / community groups etc
£16.50 + VAT per hour commercial groups
£5.50 + VAT per hour for using Green Room or Archive Room (office spaces, up to 3 people capacity)
Caretaking charges apply for evening & weekend bookings. No additional chargers are required during weekend hires of Studio 2. Read our terms and conditions in full here.
Hire of the studio spaces includes access to wifi and water for guests. Additional catering can be provided by The Engine Room café including tea, coffee, biscuits, fruit platter or lunch.

Accessibility
Level Access
The main entrance has level access.
There is level access to our cafe, gender neutral toilets including a disabled toilet, Studio One and Studio Two.
In Studio two there is an additional disabled toilet with level access.
There is a slope to access a small external back yard area, which we fondly refer to as 'Central Park'.
The second floor is accessible by a stair lift.
The spaces on the second floor, which include staff office, Signal Box and Creative People and Places Office then have level access.
Hearing
Most staff have disability awareness training. We have also received training in film subtitling.
Visual
The walls and the doors have high colour contrast.
Some parts of the venue have lighting, which is adjustable.
Our brochure is available on request in audio and large print format.
General
Assistance dogs are welcome and water bowls can be provided.
There are short term parking bays opposite and close to The Engine Room, which can be parked in for longer by Blue Badge holders.
