Workshop | Patterns for Regenerative Storyworlds

Are you a Filmmaker, Scriptwriter or Director?
We have an exclusive workshop opportunity for you, which will be delivered by Climate Springs. The Patterns for Regenerative Storyworlds Workshop
The session will introduce a set of "design patterns" that writers can use in their imagining of settings for their stories. It will also introduce archetypes of characters in transition. Participants will be guided through individual writing exercises to familiarise themselves with the patterns.

Proposal Deadline | Artist in Residence 2026
We are offering a Somerset-based artist a residency at The Engine Room in Bridgwater from mid-June to mid-September 2026 to explore digital technology. For 2026, they are seeking an artist to create an environmentally themed interactive installation to be presented in September.

We are commissioning a young filmmaker to produce an original short film! Pitch your idea to be made into a short film, this must be a narrative fiction piece i.e. comedy or drama (not documentary).

Submission Deadline | Young Photographers’ Showcase
We’re inviting young photographers aged 25 and under who live in Somerset to submit up to three photos for a public showcase at The Engine Room in August 2026. Images must have been taken since 2023 and should explore the theme of the natural world or climate change. Submit them by completing our Young Photographers’ Entry Form.

When a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured together on the job, a wacky but life-saving surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born.
