Submission Deadline | Short Film Commission 2025
Are you aged under 25 and live in Somerset?
We are commissioning a young filmmaker to produce an original short film!
Pitch your idea to be made into a short film, this must be a narrative fiction piece i.e. comedy or drama (not documentary). By ‘short’ we mean a maximum of five minutes*. It is free to submit your ideas and you can submit more than one.

Editing is one of the least appreciated stages of successful video production, and is vital for creating an effective video or film. On this one day workshop you will learn how to edit a compelling film with Final Cut Pro X.

Experience an exciting digital interpretation from this year’s Artist in Resident Tina Salvidge, who will showcase her studio using VR, LiDAR scanning, moving image and sound.

Workshop | Film Remix - be a sonic time traveller
Free | For ages 10-18
Come and explore using VDMX vjing software and Koala music sampler apps to present old film in a new way. Remix the past by creating a soundtrack for a silent, archive film using found sound. (No need to play an instrument or be musical!) We’re taking visual inspiration from the C.S. John Sparkes film archive, which shows rural life in Somerset on film.

Award-winning creative studio ScanLAB Projects are hosting a three 90 minute hands-on 3D scanning workshops. The workshops are designed for young people and adults with an interest in digital art and photography, as well as artists looking to integrate 3D scanning into their creative practice - and anyone with an interest in environmental and data science!

Bridgwater Together AGM

Throughout the year individuals, community groups and organisations come together to promote and celebrate cultural diversity within our town. Together we organise ‘Bridgwater Together', an annual event in November and other smaller events during the year.
If you would like to get involved, then join us at our AGM this event. There will be refreshments and pancakes to enjoy. You can sign up as a volunteer for the main event in November 2025, bring your suggestions on how to make the annual event even better or put forward an idea for a new event.
