If the Land could Speak brings together images from three powerful photographic journeys by Gavin Maxwell,  a prominent wildlife and natural history producer/director. Through these works, he reveals the profound connection between humans and the planet. Drawing on the Rights of Nature movement’s idea that landscapes are living subjects, not silent backdrops, he invites us to listen to the land with both eyes and heart. This exhibition brings together work from three powerful photographic journeys by Gavin Maxwell, a prominent wildlife and natural history producer/director. Known for major series like Wild China and The Future of Nature, his photographic work has been featured with Royal Photographic Society and British Journal of Photography. Here Gavin Maxwell invites us into a dialogue with terrain, altitude and presence. Land of High Passes charts the demanding mountain landscapes of the North-West Himalayas, where ancient routes thread remote valleys and human life is framed by vertical extremes. These images are not just studies of altitude — they are reflections on resilience, tradition and how people define themselves through place. Karakoram Journey reveals the mountains of Northern Pakistan, one of the most heavily glaciated areas of the world outside the Polar regions. In the Fujifilm GFX Challenge Grant awarded project, If the Land Could Speak, he gives voice to the earth itself, from windswept moors to glacier-scoured peaks. Drawing on the Rights of Nature movement’s idea that landscapes are living subjects, not silent backdrops: here are voices asking to be heard.
