Free networking event for ages 16-25

If you are thinking of a career in the creative industries, such as film, you will be aware that networking is key. Come and develop those skills at our event and meet like-minded peers and special guests from the creative industry.

We will be joined by special guest Sam Murray, an Intimacy Coordinator with over 30 years’ experience in film, television and theatre. She has worked with Apple TV, the BBC, Amazon and Netflix.

Plus Jake Langley, a Director of Photography, will demo the professional camera and rig setup he uses. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close, ask questions and try out the kit for yourself.

About Sam

Sam has just completed work as Lead Intimacy Coordinator on Alfonso Cuarón’s Apple Originals series, Disclaimer, in Italy and the UK. Based between Madrid and London, she is able to support productions internationally across the UK, EU, The Balkans, Australia and beyond.

Coordinating for both large and small budget projects since 2021, Sam’s IC slate so far includes Netflix’s flagship production with Nuyorican Productions, The Mother, with Jennifer Lopez,  Sundance 2023 hit, Fair Play for MRC and T-street, as well as the critically acclaimed BBC heist series The Gold with Academy Award winning director Aneil Karia.

A background as a professional film, television and theatre actor across the last 30+ years has given Sam a rich experience to draw from and enables expert communication skills and production understanding.

About Jake

Jake Langley is a short film Director of Photography based in Somerset. He completed the BFI Film Academy programme in 2022 and has since gone on to make a number of short films which have been showcased around the world. Most notable projects include "Scrutiny of Friendship" and "Huntsman". For his work on Huntsman: Jake and Director Ralph Hutchins received a masterclass article in British Cinematographer magazine, placing them next to projects such as Percy Jackson (Netflix) and Stranger Things (Netflix).
