Winner of the Young Photographer Robert Richards Award Announced

All of the featured photographers attended a special Private View event to mark the opening of the Young Photographer Showcase. Held at The Engine Room, the exhibition celebrated the creativity, talent, and unique perspectives of young photographers from across Somerset.

We were thrilled for the Mayor of Bridgwater to announce the winner of the Young Photographer Robert Richards Award, Kieron Lloyd, for this photograph, ‘Upside Down Wembdon’.

The Robert Richards Award recognises work that celebrates the environment or raises awareness of climate change. It is presented in memory of Robert Richards, former Chair of Trustees for the charity, who also worked closely with Michael Eavis at Glastonbury Festival and served as a trustee for Glastonbury Abbey. A passionate advocate for emerging talent, Robert’s legacy lives on through this award, which has now been presented for the third time.

Deb Richardson, our Creative Director, said:

“This has been our very first Young Photographer Showcase, and we were absolutely thrilled by the number and quality of submissions. It’s a real joy to provide an opportunity and space that celebrates the creativity of Somerset’s young talent. The success of this exhibition has been incredibly encouraging, and we’re excited to explore making it an annual event for the community to enjoy year after year.”
